Sometimes I feel like there is no point in making new years resolutions, in the first place why do you have to wait a whole year to make these resolutions? Why don’t I do this say monthly or even maybe daily/whenever is necessary? Secondly I feel like I always place such high demands on myself for the year that I end up not keeping most of them and then disappointing myself in the end, which never feels good! So this year, i’m not going to beat myself up about anything, this is what i’d like to do, i’ll do my best but if I was not able to do it all, oh well. Life, after all, is about giving it your best shot! I am also setting more realistic goals for myself! I decided to give This Is Essential‘s blog post a read to help me out; 8 Categories to consider when goal setting.
Here’s what I’ve come up with!
Career
Take on Jobs I enjoy
Don’t allow yoursel to get de valued- KNOW YOUR WORTH & STICK TO IT
Do more personal photography projects
Keep my website, blog & instagram accounts up to date
Health
Food conscious- Eating better- Cooking for myself & family – learn new recipes
Drink at least 2.5 ltrs water daily
Gym/activity/sports 4 times a week
Relationships
Don’t be afraid to let go of any type of relationships that are toxic to my soul.
Invest in people who invest in you
Money
Start putting money in my savings account for the kids! It doesn’t matter how small that may be!
Self
Learn to love myself and be happy with myself at every stage of my life
write down 3 things I’m grateful for everyday

Pleasure
Never neglect my responsibilities but be okay with taking a time out when needed
Travel around Kenya more & the world whenever possible
Be in the moment
Hang out with my friends and family more often, surround myself with love
Family
Make sure my kids are happy & healthy, always! No matter what happens, my kids come first.
And at the end of the day, what I am going to do always, or at least try, is BE GOOD TO MYSELF!!!!!! Thats my 2019 Mantra!
